‘Election not possible before May 2024’

 ISLAMABAD: Previous Political decision Commission of Pakistan (ECP) secretary Kanwar Dilshad has said that the following races are conceivable to some extent following nine months, as opposed to before May 2024.

Conversing with The News here on Tuesday, he made sense of that the delimitation of bodies electorate based on statistics 2023 will require four months, which will follow the amendment of appointive rolls based on new headcount.

Dilshad said that the course of update of electing rolls, welcoming complaints and printing the last electors rundown will require three months. From that point onward, two months, at least 54 days, are expected for the political race plan. As per the previous ECP secretary, four months for delimitation, 90 days for settling electors rundown, and two months for political race timetable will make the following political race conceivable not before May 2024.

Dilshad said that delimitation of the electorates will be trailed by readiness of new appointive rolls. "It's compulsory," he said, adding, it can't be overlooked.
